Gray Academy is very proud to deliver The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award to students from Grades 8 through 12. For many years, this prestigious award has given Gray Academy students amazing opportunities to challenge themselves with new learning and skills development outside the classroom.

Helping young people discover their infinite potential

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award was first launched in the UK in 1956 to motivate young people to become involved in voluntary self-development activities and community service.

Available in Canada since 1963, the Award encourages students to step outside their comfort zone to learn, lead and build positive habits.

Gray Academy students in Grades 8-12 are invited to join more than one million others around the globe who are participating in the Award and gaining an internationally recognized accreditation that is valued by universities, businesses and governments worldwide.

Logging your progress is easy and fun with the Online Record Book which is available both online and as an app.

  • Interested students in Grade 8 and up are invited to book an appointment with Ms. Leipsic to discuss the process and plan their participation before applying.
