Order by Monday, November 16 to receive your cards in time for Chanukah
Chanukah begins at sundown on Friday, December 4. The Gray Academy Parent Association (GAPA) Gift Card fundraiser can help make your gift-giving easy AND benefit our school at the same time.
Gift cards that give back
- GAPA has teamed up once again with FundScrip, a Canadian company that offers gift cards from hundreds of retailers and gives a portion of all sales back to Gray Academy.
- You can order cards for everything from clothing to coffee, groceries to gasoline, and so much more*.
- The best part? Every gift card you purchase means cash back for Gray Academy
* NOTE: This program includes restaurants and retailers that offer non-kosher items. As a Jewish school, we serve only kosher food and drinks. Decisions about purchases for home or gift-giving are up to the discretion of each family.
Ordering is easy
- Click here to download and print a FundScrip order form.
- Choose gift cards in your choice of denomination from a wide range of retailers.
- Hand in your gift card order form to the school office (bring it in or send it with your child), together with a cheque payable to the Gray Academy Parent Association.
- GAPA submits the order for you, and you get your gift cards – easy peasy!

- Cards aren’t just for gift-giving, you can use them for your own groceries, gasoline and more.
- We also encourage you to share the order form with friends and family who would like to support Gray Academy.
Please be sure to submit your order form and cheque by Monday, November 16. The cards you purchase will arrive at school before Chanukah.

IMMEDIATE NEEDS FOR VOLUNTEER LEADERS!

Pre-Loved Uniforms Coordinator(s)
Tasks include:
- Sorting donated items; checking sizes; ensuring they are free of stains, rips or fading.
- Keeping the school’s Pre-Loved Uniform Room organized.
- Working with Gray Academy staff to set dates for two to three Pre-Loved Uniform Sales each school year.
- Set-up, management and cleanup at each sale, with help from parent/High School student volunteers.
Teacher Appreciation Coordinator
Tasks include coordinating volunteers to:
- Stock the Staff Room occasionally with coffee, tea and treats (store-bought and/or baked at school).
- Occasionally bake treats for staff in the school kitchen.
- Leave special notes in the Staff Room and around the school once or twice a year.
- Coordinate a mid-year staff lunch and end-of-year Staff BBQ.
- Any other ideas you may have to remind our teachers, education assistants, admin and office staff how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication to our children.
Chagim Coordinator
Tasks include coordinating volunteers to:
- Prepare special treats for students at Jewish holidays, such as apples and honey for Rosh Hashanah, sufganiyot for Chanukah, falafel for Yom Ha’atzmaut, etc.
- Plan and run our annual after-school Chanukah party and other family programming.
- Provide an extra helping hand, as needed, for Gray Academy’s in-school holiday celebrations.
Shopping Coordinator
Tasks include coordinating volunteers to:
- Shop for groceries, decorations or other items needed for Gray Academy holiday celebrations, staff appreciation initiatives, etc.
- Deliver these purchases to the school in advance.
