Gray Academy provides students with exceptional opportunities to learn, grow and excel, in a warm and welcoming environment framed by Jewish values, spirituality and love of Israel.

Every year, gifts from generous donors help us innovate and enrich student learning and experiences. Additional funding to enhance our facilities and programs enriches student life today, builds amazing memories and prepares students to become proud future leaders in our Jewish world.

A New Place to Play

Since the Asper Jewish Community Campus opened in 1997, thousands of children have enjoyed countless hours of movement and fun free play on our original play structure. But after nearly three decades, our smaller structure has begun to break down and no longer meets today’s standards for safety or accessibility.

Thanks to an incredibly generous lead gift from the Rich family, along with gifts from Rady JCC and the Gray Academy Parent Association and a substantial grant from the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, construction will begin in Fall 2025 on a beautiful new blue and white play structure that will be known as “Gan Re’ut” (גן רעות), Hebrew for “Friendship Garden,” where all children can play and grow together.

Learning on Ice

In January 2021, generous support from the Rich, Narvey and Levene families allowed us to create the Gray Academy-Tough Duck Community Ice Rink at the Asper Jewish Community Campus. Since then, hundreds of students have enjoyed learning to skate and play on the ice during Phys Ed classes and after-school lessons. The rink is a fantastic asset, available to everyone in the community to book and use outside school hours all winter.

The Gift of Language Skills

Our Gray Academy family is made up of diverse learners from around the world. Over the years, we have welcomed countless students from Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and especially Israel. While Gray Academy’s English as an additional language (EAL) professionals made supporting newcomers their priority, an incredible commitment from Sheree Walder Morantz and Richard Morantz has allowed us to expand our capabilities and programming with new materials, professional development and more.
