Welcome to Gray Academy of Jewish Education

In today’s fast paced, constantly changing world, parents are looking for a school that makes their children feel safe, respected, and confident. They want their children’s unique qualities and learning styles to be supported. And they want their children to be successful not just within the school walls, but in life in general. At Gray Academy, we do just that.

From the moment they walk through our doors, our students are immersed in a nurturing and supportive environment. Through programs such as our elementary buddy program (Grade 5 and 6 students are paired up with counterparts in Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten), elementary and high school guidance curriculum, high school peer tutoring, student-led debate tournaments and workshops, and our monthly school-wide causal day for a cause, Gray Academy students have a strong sense of community and understand their responsibility to care for others. This values-based approach to teaching is present in all subjects and grades.

Gray Academy’s unique philosophy naturally translates into success at school and beyond. We’re proud of our world-class debate team, our provincial basketball champions, our nationally ranked ultimate team (3rd best in Canada), our nationally recognized math scores, and more. In our alumni community we have university gold medalists, world-renown chefs, Juno Award-winning musicians, prestigious doctors, leading lawyers, nationally-recognized journalists, countless entrepreneurs, executives and clergy in almost every Jewish organization in our city, not to mention the 16 alumni faculty teaching at Gray Academy.

Along with our values-based approach, our small class sizes ensure that each child is supported as an individual. We tailor our lessons to adapt to the learning style of each child. This creates an environment that allows students to identify their potential and achieve their learning goals with ease.

Of course, all of this is achieved within the warmth of our Jewish community. Whatever your level of affiliation or Jewish observance, at Gray Academy, we have a place for everyone to develop and express their unique Jewish identity.

I encourage you to explore our website and read our school overview. However, the best way to experience the warmth of our Gray Academy community and the success of our students is to see it firsthand. Attend an Open House or schedule a personal tour. As a current Gray Academy parent, I love talking about our school. At Gray Academy, we are truly a family, and we’d be delighted to welcome your family into ours. I look forward to meeting you and assisting you in the admissions process.
